The Times-Picayune/The New Orleans Advocate

The Times-Picayune | The New Orleans Advocate is an American newspaper published in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ancestral publications of other names date back to January 25, 1837. The current publication is the result of the 2019 acquisition of The Times-Picayune (which was the result of the 1914 union of The Picayune with the Times-Democrat) by the New Orleans edition of The Advocate in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Times-Picayune was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service in 1997 for its coverage of threats to the world’s fisheries and in 2006 for its coverage of Hurricane Katrina.
