Persepolis (film)
Persepolis is a 2007 adult animated biographical drama film written and directed by Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud, based on Satrapi's autobiographical graphic novel of the same name. The story follows a young girl as she comes of age against the backdrop of the Iranian Revolution. The title references the historical city of Persepolis. An international co-production between France and the United States, the film premiered at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival, where it co-won the Jury Prize, alongside Silent Light.
