Nitin Sawhney

Nitin Sawhney CBE (/ˈnɪtɪn ˈsɔːni/ NIT-in SAW-nee; born 1964) is a British composer, musician and producer. A multi-instrumentalist and polymath, his music transcends cultural barriers with work that spans both Western and Indian classical music traditions, flamenco, jazz, hip-hop, drum’n’bass, rock, pop and electronica. Sawhney has composed over sixty film scores including Tiger, Orangutan, Breathe and Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle and his TV credits include the BBC series Human Planetand Wonders of the Monsoon. He’s scored for and performed with a variety of orchestras: London Symphony Orchestra, The Hallé Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, CBSO and Britten Sinfonia and has conducted both the LSO and the Singapore Festival Orchestra.
