Emos vs. Punks was a series of confrontations that occurred in Mexico from 2008 to 2009 in Mexico between emos and anti-emo groups, mainly punks. The emo movement emerged in Mexico in the early 2000s. It was influenced by the international subculture of the United States and pop punk music, known for its emotionally expressive lyrics.
