Elisabeth Leonskaja

Elisabeth Leonskaja (born 23 November 1945) is an Austrian pianist. Born and trained in Tbilisi, she won the Enesco Competition in Bucharest in 1964 which made an international career possible. She then studied at the Moscow Conservatory where she met Sviatoslav Richter who performed with her and became a close friend. She has lived in Vienna since 1978.
