Cimex lectularius, or the common bedbug, is a species of Cimicidae. An ectoparasite, its primary hosts are humans. It is one of the world's major "nuisance pests". Engorged after blood meal. Behavior / Notes: Resurgent global pest. Hides in mattress seams, headboards, baseboards. Feeds at night. Bites cause itchy welts. Do not transmit known human diseases.
