Charles Grobe
Charles Grobe (c. 1817 – October 20, 1879) was an American composer who wrote nearly two thousand works, including many piano variations on popular melodies. According to The Grove Dictionary of American Music, he was the most prolific 19th-century composer of battle pieces in the United States, who wrote music for the American Civil War and Mexican–American War.
