Alfie (1966 film)
Alfie is a 1966 British comedy-drama film produced and directed by Lewis Gilbert and starring Michael Caine. The Paramount Pictures release was adapted by Bill Naughton from his 1963 play. Following its premiere at the Plaza Theatre in the West End of London on 24 March 1966, the film became a box-office success, enjoying critical acclaim, and influencing British cinema. The plot follows a young, womanising man leading a self-centred life, focused on his own enjoyment until events force him to question his uncaring behaviour, his loneliness, and his priorities.
