1958 in film

The year 1958 in film involved some significant events. Le Beau Serge is credited as the first feature film of the Nouvelle Vague; one of the most famous productions of the genre, also released this year, was Ascenseur pour l'échafaud, notable for its improvised soundtrack by Miles Davis.
